The dead sea is almost six times as salty as the ocean! Its name is actually a kinder translation from the Hebrew name 'Yam ha Maved', which means, 'Killer Sea'. Its waters are deadly to most living things. Fish accidentally swimming into the waters are killed instantly!!! Humans, however are remarkably adaptable, and can float all day long!!!!
